Overview

SUMMARY:

In this full-time, on-site role, the Machine Operator will operate multiple NC Deltamotion workstation set up by Operator, load and unload parts in fixtures provided; run the appropriate NC program; inspect work for conformance using detailed visual inspection of features and surface defects for compliance with drawing; perform works of moderate complexity.

The expected schedule for this role would be:

  • Monday - Off
  • Tuesday- Off / 8 hours every other working Tuesday
  • Wednesday- 9 hours
  • Thursday- 9 hours
  • Friday - 9 hours
  • Saturday- 9 hours
  • Sunday- Off

This is a 9/80- Schedule where employees will enjoy a three-day weekend every other week, with standard days off being Sunday and Monday, and an additional day off on alternating Tuesdays


Responsibilities

  • Perform tacking on RF and DC covers using the NC deltamotion workstation operating Amada equipment
  • Use proper fixture for tacking procedure utilizing proper clamping to keep unit in place per all applicable requirements specified by the assembly traveler and weld detail drawing
  • Ability to locate the correct file on the LAN per drawing requirement
  • Check blueprint for the weld file and orientation using Agile software online
  • Perform final sealing on RF and DC covers and hermetically seal housings in a 20% He/80% N2 atmosphere using the Deltamotion Glovebox System
  • Perform fine leak test, test procedure used to verify the hermeticity of a sealed device. This procedure is to be used when testing devices in accordance with MIL-STD-202H, Method 112, Condition C, Procedure IV (Backfilled Devices).
  • Perform Gross leak test, the specific test procedure used to test a sealed device per MIL-STD-202H, Method 112, Condition D. a 180 second minimum immersion is used to assure compliance
  • Mounting surface flatness verification using one-inch square flatness fixture and overall flatness fixture
  • Load and unload units into vacuum bake and ovens for proper curing prior to final sealing using stand-alone vacuum bake and glovebox oven using the proper temperature
  • Connector weld, tacking and sealing connector in housing using NC Deltamotion software.
  • Purge plug installation procedure for backfilling microwave devices with Sulfur-Hexafluoride (SF6) / Helium gas. Method for sealing the purge hole used for the backfill process.
  • Use microscope to inspect units for defects under 10X magnification, minimum
  • Welding penetration coupons, Every seven (7) days one (1) day, weld one (1) standard validation coupon. Record data in Delta Laser Seal Validation Traveler and posted with the machine
  • RGA cubes test, every seven days +/- one (1) day, seal an IGA cube under current monitored conditions, and sent to an approved IGA facility for analysis
  • Use microscope for inspection of production units; obtain blueprints from satellite files for part production
  • Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices
  • Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
  • Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SET team support as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.

  • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is required.
  • Four (4) years minimum of related experience.
  • Detail-oriented, with good manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or Technical Certification in Laser sealing
  • Knowledge of Deltamotion workstation

Salary Range: $19.40 - $30.14 hourly (San Diego, CA)

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
