Position Summary

The Director is responsible for planning and directing the activities and programs of MultiCare's Patient Financial Services including all hospital billing, collection and accounts receivable management processes for the assigned region. The Director ensures accurate, timely and compliant billing, follow-up, and denials management, including the coordination with facilities and clinic sites involved in the revenue cycle process, always focusing on the patient's experience. This position is directly responsible for the programs, policies, procedures, and day-to-day operations of the Patient Financial Services department, as well as managing vendors supporting these service parameters. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Administration, Health Care Administration, or Clinical Administration required
  • Eight (8) years of experience and mastery of professional or technical role/function
  • Three (3) years of experience in hospital or physician accounts receivable and billing field, managing a large Patient Financial Services Department
  • Five (5) years of experience in progressively more responsible management roles
  • Internal applicants not meeting the educational requirements may be considered

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $126,941.00 - $182,688.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
