Proposal Writer Fairfax, VA Pay From: $85,000 per year MUST: Experienced Proposal Writer 3+ years of experience managing and writing federal proposals Familiarity with portals like SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, PIEE, and tools like Deltek GovWin. Experience supporting proposals in Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering, or Logistics sectors Demonstrated understanding of the federal acquisition process and proposal compliance. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat APMP Certification preferred Bachelor's Degree required DUTIES: Lead and manage the end-to-end proposal process (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, Sources Sought). Facilitate proposal kickoff meetings, standups, and review sessions. Develop and maintain detailed proposal plans, including compliance matrices, schedules, and calendars. Coordinate internal teams and external partners to meet deadlines and deliverables. Track action items, ensure timely contributions, and manage risk throughout the process. Oversee final production, packaging, and submission of proposals by solicitation requirements. Serve as lead writer for technical and non-technical sections: executive summary, management approach, staffing, past performance, and personnel resumes. Interpret input from SMEs and translate technical concepts into clear, persuasive, and customer-focused language. Tailor existing content and boilerplate material for each opportunity. Maintain consistent tone, format, and branding across all proposal documents. Ensure strict compliance with solicitation instructions (Sections L & M), FAR/DFARS, and agency-specific guidelines. Review and edit documents for grammar, clarity, compliance, and persuasive impact. Coordinate development of proposal graphics, charts, and visual aids with design resources. Maintain a well-organized proposal content library (past performance, resumes, templates). Contribute to the evolution of proposal development tools, templates, and best practices.
