Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (Certified) plays a critical role in ensuring optimal surgical outcomes by maintaining sterile environments, preparing operating rooms, and assisting in surgical procedures. Responsibilities include following meticulous sterile techniques and assembling necessary surgical instruments and supplies according to physician preference cards. This role involves inspecting all equipment for functionality, ensuring it meets the specific requirements for each procedure. The Surgical Technologist consistently adheres to aseptic techniques when handling sterile packages, setting up for surgeries, and providing intraoperative support, contributing to the highest standards of patient care and safety.

What you will do



  • Perform and strictly adhere to aseptic techniques, ensuring a sterile field and surgical instruments remain uncontaminated throughout the procedure. Prepare the O.R. suite by setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to surgery type and surgeon's preferences.
  • Properly clean, sterilize, and store surgical instruments, ensuring they are in working condition before procedures. Accurately count sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgery to prevent retention of surgical items.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs, passing instruments, supplies, and medications quickly and efficiently during procedures. Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation of the incision site as needed. Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure seamless operations during surgery. Maintain effective communication with the team to meet all patient needs throughout the procedure.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines. Monitor and manage the overall safety of the operating room environment.


Experience Qualifications



  • 1-3 years Surgery Tech Experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications



  • Must hold current certification as a Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or an equivalent accredited certification program. Upon Hire Required
  • CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from approved program or Prevea sponsored program. Upon Hire Required
