Assistant Branch Manager

As the Assistant Branch Manager, you will assume responsibility for the efficient and profitable operation of a branch and its employees. In this role you will provide a high level of customer service, in addition to making and servicing a variety of consumer loans, collaborate with staff to increase branch performance. The Assistant Branch Manager will also uphold branch objectives and performance standards, train and coach the team.

• Collaborate with direct Manager to lead the performance management in the Branch to ensure optimum operating efficiency by:
• Making routine employment decisions, including reviewing performance, assigning work, providing training, guiding, and advising staff as necessary.
• Resolving routine personnel problems. Continually working to foster and maintain team environment with Relationship Bankers.
• Knowledgeable about the banking industry and able to perform various Relationship Banker's duties.
• Awareness of banking regulatory matters and proper operational procedures to keep the branch running successfully.
• Assists with responsibility for efficient management of Branch operations by:
• Interpreting bank policies, programs, and objectives, ensuring that approved operating policies and procedures are maintained.
• Continually evaluating operating methods and procedures, making recommendations for improvements, and implementing approved changes.
• Makes and services a variety of loans by:
• Interviewing customers and compiling necessary information to determine customers' requirements and the best type of loan to satisfy their needs.
• Ensuring that all necessary personal and financial data is obtained and properly analyzed.
• Adheres to and upholds all written policies and procedures of Mascoma Bank, including BSA/CIP and OFAC monitoring and reporting, security, operation, and personnel policies.

Work Location: This position will be based in our Maple Street Branch in White River Junction VT.

What You Bring

• Associate degree or equivalent in work experience.
• Three plus (3+) years of branch experience.
• One (1) to two (2) years of managerial experience or demonstrated leadership ability
• Knowledge of computers/strong typing skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in problem-solving.
• Great, positive attitude and likes to work with people on a team.
• Travel to other Mascoma Bank locations is required for training and occasional meetings
• Flexibility in job schedules and work locations including Saturday and early morning drive-up hours.
• Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with Mascoma Bank appearance policy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of customer information.
