General Summary of Position
The Contract Management Analyst role is responsible for analyzing, documenting and reporting findings of claim processing and pricing issues resulting in payment variances. In addition, this role is responsible for the validation of claims reprocessing projects to ensure contract terms were followed and appropriate reimbursement received.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interprets and evaluates payer contracts within Contract Management system to identify payer and pricing issues resulting in payment variances.
  • Analyzes impact files and works in collaboration with the Payer Teams and Managed Care on claims processing issues using subject matter expertise to enhance and improve accuracy.
  • Acquires and maintains an intermediate level of knowledge and interpretation of all payer contracts, fee schedules, and Medicare & Medicaid billing and reimbursement rules.
  • Validates new and appended contracts to ensure proper pricing and accurate payment of claims after effective date of signed agreement.
  • Generates and distributes claims and payment integrity related reports.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Associate's degree preferred
    • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience

    • 3-4 years Managed Care or healthcare related organizations experience required and 1-2 years contract-based reimbursement experience preferred
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Detailed working knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in at least one specific payer's reimbursement and appeals process.
    • Requires basic working knowledge of UB04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
    • Requires some knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding.
    • Proficient uses of hospital registration and/or billing systems and personal computers as well as Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
    • Ability to type 35 WPM.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    This position has a hiring range of $23.19 - $40.61
