Responsibilities

    Develop and integrate technology for U.S. Navy power systems, working alongside prestigious universities and industry teammates
  • Among others, these are technologies you will have opportunity to de-risk, mature, and integrate for transition readiness:
    • Solid state transformers for power density, replaceability, maintainability, integrated form factor, and galvanic isolation
    • Modular power and energy systems technologies for Navy platforms achieving supporting operational availability and survivability
    • Power system monitoring technology for shipboard insulation systems supporting operational availability and condition based maintenance
  • Engage in digital engineering, modeling and simulation (M&S) including various software platforms and a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach for acceleration and continuity of systems engineering design
  • Verify and validate technologies against military performance requirements and standards to support military concept of operations (CONOPS)
  • Technically manage stakeholders and subcontracted teammates including industrial manufacturers, university research programs, and laboratories
  • Take ownership from start to finish in a lead engineering role: plan, execute technical scope, and deliver while coordinating the efforts of multi-disciplinary engineering, drafting, technical writing, management, and the supporting back office
  • Perform technology demonstrations, qualification programs, requirements development, system design integration, design space exploration or analysis of alternatives studies
  • Participate and present at conferences, symposiums, and exhibitions
  • Up to 20% travel


Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical, systems, or computer engineering; MS degree preferred
  • Experience in one of the following and preferred familiarity with the remaining: power systems, power electronics, sensors, advanced manufacturing, functional materials for electrical systems, or model-based systems engineering
  • 2 or more years of engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain a Secret level clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Writing experience with white papers, publications, and/or proposals
  • Experience with R&D engineering and technology development
