POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT SECURITY OFFICER

DEPARTMENT: SECURITY DEPARTMENT

FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the Vice President, Security Officer, assumes responsibility in assisting with the implementation and administration of the Bank's security program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as Acting Security Officer and assume the duties and responsibilities herewith in his/her absence.
  2. Conducts annual risk assessments for branch and insurance offices to ensure security and safety policies and procedures are being adhered to, and document and disclose any exceptions.
  1. Review Verafin alerts for fraudulent and other suspicious transactions for check fraud, inactive account fraud, check kiting, new account fraud, and debit/ATM Card fraud.
  1. Assist with fraud investigations and coordinate robbery response (both internal and external) and act as a liaison with law enforcement when necessary.
  1. Assist with processing and recording fraud recoveries and restitution for all customer charge-offs.
  1. Assist with the preparation of charge-off reports by reviewing items charged off and recoveries equal to or greater than $500.00, contacting departments to process charge-offs and provide proper documentation to Security Department.
  2. Review monthly branch security reports for completeness and accuracy, and document and disclose any exceptions. Assess when security devices need to be installed or updated that include cameras, panic buttons, motion sensors, emergency exit signs, etc.
  1. Maintain alarm systems including alarm codes and call lists. Contact alarm companies and/or monitoring stations when necessary to add/delete Alarm Code users.
  1. Maintain emergency police and fire contact lists for each location.
  1. Assist in updating the Security Program and related reporting requirements to the Board of Directors and management.
  1. Maintain card access control and surveillance systems throughout the bank that include issuing cards to new employees, de-activating cards for terminated employees, and maintaining appropriate access levels for current employees.
  1. During ATM/ITM installs, coordinates with vendors to deliver and install security alarm keypads, door contacts, and surveillance cameras and conducts ATM/ITM testing by performing transactions so that the machines are ready for public use.
  1. Performs, daily, a review of "live" and "playback" mode recordings of the branch surveillance systems to look for "video loss", accurate "time & date" and other functions related to the cameras.
  1. Maintain key control inventory logs for all locations.
  1. Order and maintain security related supplies for branches, loan offices, etc. (ex: robbery kit drawer items, etc.).
  1. Works with Branch Supervisors to contact vendors to set up service calls for repairs to drive-up equipment, surveillance system and cameras.
  1. Assist in updating security related policies and procedures annually or more frequently as needed.
  1. Provide reports and other requested items to auditors and regulators as needed.
  2. Embraces the Bank's commitment to Solutions by seeking and recognizing opportunities to refer new business to different areas of the Bank, Partners Insurance Group, Plimoth Investment Advisors, and NFC Mortgage.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

Knowledgeable in bank operations, procedures and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates the ability to organize tasks, work independently, and exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures. Effective interpersonal and persuasive skills. Very good reading and writing skills.

Equipment Used:

Computer with knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and various software applications to manage access and surveillance systems (Key scan, Red Cloud, Wave Reader, Smart Viewer, ExacqVision & Control Center)

In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
