The primary responsibility of the Manager - Global Business Processes is standardizing and optimizing Freight Forwarding Air, Ocean, Road, Rail and Brokerage Freight processes across the world and supporting the operational transformation to CargoWise One and ongoing continuous improvements.

*Developing, implementing and governing the Business Process Excellence framework, methodology and quality standards working closely with operations, product, sales, training, finance and regulatory teams to ensure holistic definition of processes.

*Leading and mentoring team members and colleagues in analyzing, designing, documenting and implementing end to end process standardization & process efficiency, documenting standards, establishing key performance metrics for processes and instilling monitoring and audit practices and driving continuous improvement.

*Supporting implementation of the CargoWise One system and application across regions and countries aligning processes to global standards, gathering business requirements gaps, driving change management to support migration to global standards, defining and supporting test scripts and support UAT testing, training superusers on processes and system and supporting successful deployment with Global Subject matter expertise in operational processes

*Leads global process owners and provides subject matter expert in CargoWise One and ensuring global processes leverage full use of the software as part of roll out of new IT solutions and/or IT enhancements into the countries.

*Works with the regional deployment teams, countries and branches to identify, prioritize and drive continuous improvement through process optimization, automation, digitalization, systems developments, and ensure compliance to the standards by users.

*Defines best practice and promote consistency across the globe, collaborates with overseas to ensure processes and systems improvements with focus on end-to-end efficiencies

*Participating in strategic decisions or management bodies of functions/internal business units globally regarding process changes and optimization as well as well as digitization and customer solutions regarding process automation (e.g. changes in strategy, IT systems, organization, etc.)

*Manage change through the application of change management tools in collaboration with the global engineering and operational excellence teams including governing process control board.

*Training and coaching of standards in the area of process management and process improvement including driving innovation and development of process tools and methods and ensuring toolsets and standards are fully adopted globally

*The role reports to the Managing director - Global Integrations

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and work on implementation of complex projects and process improvement initiatives (process improvement, efficiency and effectiveness driven projects, automation implementations)

  • Acts as a coach and/ or mentor for other colleagues in the organization for process improvement projects and process management.
  • Owns globally reviewing, identifying, and defining functional system enhancements and/or process standards and improvements and executing implementation of solutions in collaboration with Operations, Products, Sales, Finance and other roles/departments
  • Establishes the methods, tools and metrics to measure operational process performance and monitor adherence to standards and process quality including recommended improvements to local, regional and global stakeholders
  • Performs business process workshops across the globe with regional, country stakeholders to support continuous improvement and support deployment of systems & processes across Air and Ocean Freight, Rail and Road Transport, and Brokerage
  • Leads a small team whom act as global process owners and act as subject matter experts in CargoWise One and global process standards for their specialist area
  • Mentors and coaches mode and functional processes owners in adherence to standards and cross functional process alignment ensuring governance and ongoing continuous improvement to agreed excellence standards and metrics
  • Assists with data analysis and defining reporting requirements which drive lower cost to serve and increased productivity and efficiency
  • Benchmarks business processes and performance against other market practices and brings proposals for raising/ improving the process management practices and operational performance
  • Reports, implements and monitors process related KPIs/process maps; initiates and reports improvement measures and their progress if KPIs are not met
  • Achieves defined individual and team KPIs, proactively implements improvements, corrections and prevention measures for specific situations
  • Supports in creating and updating training curriculums and training plans and performing training to regions and regional process teams to ensure end user comprehension
  • Testing and developing processes for new functionality to be used across operational systems.
  • Documenting standard operating procedures and providing content to global learning and development
  • Providing global support and being an escalation point for processes
  • Performs and supports on site operational compliance audits and communicates audit results including recommended corrective actions to local, regional and global stakeholders.
  • Provides Cost / Benefit analysis and Executive recommendations per the standard continuous improvement process, including prioritization.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE

Academic:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Experience & knowledge:

  • Minimal 8 years' experience in Freight Forwarding, strong preference multi modal and strong understanding of rate management and operational finance
  • Excellent knowledge of Freight Forwarding operations and process across ocean and air freight, and road and rail transportation, brokerage and value-added services desirable.
  • Several years of experience in Operational Excellence, Quality, - Project and/or Program management; Strong experience in process and project management and proven track record in process optimization projects / continuous improvement of 5 + years
  • High Affinity for state of the art IT-Tools and solutions concerning Process Management (Process Intelligence) and experience in digitization and process automation technologies highly desirable (e.g. RPA, machine learning, chatbot, AI)
  • Experience with Integration Services commonly used in the freight forwarding space inclusive of brokerage ideally defining required capabilities and working with IT for delivery
  • Implementation experience with digital solutions spanning basic track and trace, online services through to more complex order management and lead logistics solutions inclusive of products, data integration and reporting
  • Experience with CargoWise as the core freight and brokerage systems is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Leadership Experience and ability to manage small teams of analysts remotely to deliver solutions
  • Proven ability to complete projects and exceed results
  • You are customer-centric and as such can easily put yourself into customer shoes
  • A Bachelor's or master's degree in Logistics, Information Technology, or an equivalent education
  • Minimum 5-8 years forwarding, carrier, or similar experience
  • Minimum 5 years Solution Consulting and integration experience in logistics / freight forwarding
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering digital products and services using both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies and SDLC processes preferred
  • Ability to manage priorities in (digital) product development and process optimization and demands of customer solutions delivery
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
  • Global role, ideally based in US

Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
