As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst, you will support sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, supplier performance, and value creation across Smithfield's indirect spend categories. You'll lead and execute sourcing initiatives, manage RFP data, and provide actionable insights through market, bid, and spend analysis. Collaborating closely with category managers and cross-functional stakeholders, you'll help optimize procurement processes, strengthen vendor relationships, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Gather and Analyze Sourcing Data: Collect technical and commercial specifications (e.g., buyer info, bid items, volumes, pricing, supplier details) and validate supporting documentation for spend, cost reduction, cost improvement, and cost avoidance.

  • Support Strategic Cost Initiatives: Validate 12-month value impacts for CR (Cost Reduction), CI (Cost Improvement), CA (Cost Avoidance), and working capital in coordination with Category Managers and suppliers.

  • Deliver Reporting and Market Insights: Generate detailed spend reports by sourcing category for senior leadership, provide monthly/weekly input cost market updates, and reconcile rebate or signing bonus data via SAP.

  • Drive Process Optimization: Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions for DSP processes, improve DSP-to-SAP efficiency, and support defined benchmark reporting and inventory control analysis.

  • Manage Training and Systems: Act as the DSP and SAP gatekeeper by conducting procurement and internal customer training, ensuring data integrity, and managing pricing and source lists.

  • Engage in On-Site Collaboration: Travel to supplier and Smithfield production facilities to understand operations and support projects as needed per manager direction.

  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Establish annual goals focused on CR, CI, CA, or working capital improvements in collaboration with your manager.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • SAP & Microsoft Office Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey insights and collaborate across teams.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Team & Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work well in both team-oriented and independent environments.

  • Travel Flexibility: Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
  • Sourcing experience, preferred.
