What is your impact? The Senior Network Engineer plans, designs, and implements network systems. Responsible for providing expert-level consultation and execution of network design and administration. Reviews and assesses user needs and trends, conducts research and recommends network technology solutions. Accountable for all aspects of network systems design, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, documentation and repair activities. The Senior Network Engineer leads efforts, oversees results, provides training and serves as a technical resource for other Network Engineers. The Senior Network Engineer is a subject matter expert leading projects, initiatives and continuous improvement activities involving multiple teams or functional areas. What you will be doing:
- Responsible for leading technical teams tasked with resolving complex network and system problems (e.g., protocol analysis, system errors, interoperability problems, security incidents and disaster recovery events) and in the development of technical strategies and architectures. Lead, manage and/or participate on corporate projects and initiatives, monthly releases and disaster recovery exercises
- Provides expert level consulting services and subject matter expertise related to network systems providing in-depth knowledge of the current state of technology across the industry and the direction of that technology to both internal and external customers and partners. Resolves issues or maximize capabilities involving multiple facilities, high transaction volume or costs, and or a high impact level. Provide leadership in the design and implementation of large-scale networking solutions based on business requirements.
- Responsible for implementation and deployment of technology design including troubleshooting and resolving issues, developing procedures and documentation. Prepares reports and analyzes trends, issues and metrics related to network performance and recommends courses of action.
- Develop and ensure compliance to all network, disaster recovery and security policies. Prepares documentation for audits.
- Design systems and develop processes and procedures for operation and maintenance. Diagnose and resolve issues related to the design and maintenance of infrastructure, hardware and software. Consult with senior management on technical issues.
- Monitors and performs maintenance of network systems and works in conjunction with Architects to develop network strategies and architectures.
- Leads research, evaluation and selection of vendor solutions. Mentor and provide directions to Network Engineers.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years related work experience in network infrastructure design and administration
- Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field
- Experience using Agile methodology.
- Must have extensive network operations knowledge and experience.
- Ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately to all levels and audiences.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
- Proven leadership abilities including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness.
