Who we are:

Central Power Systems & Services (CPS&S) is the only authorized distributor for Allison Transmissions, Detroit Diesel, MTU and Mercedes engines in Kansas, Missouri and Northern Oklahoma. CPS&S has been serving the Commercial Equipment needs of the lower Midwest region with top quality On-Highway, Industrial and Power Generation products and services since 1954.

What you'll do:

Processing of payments to vendors and service providers for expenses, excluding payroll. Maintenance of accurate and complete records and files on all payments processed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Daily processing of invoices received from vendors:
  • Match with purchase orders and authorizations.
  • Review standard monthly contract or service billing for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Accurately code

    • Company
    • Department
    • General Ledger Account
    • Other Accounting Data.


  • Enter invoices into Accounting Computer System.
  • Correctly file all invoices processed.
  • Processing of payments (twice a month):

    • Select items to be paid.
    • Print checks and match to appropriate invoices as preparation for signing.
    • Process and mail signed checks.
    • File paid invoices in permanent Accounts Payable files.


  • Monthly reconciliation's of vendor statements to open Accounts Payable files.Research of discrepancies.Correspondence with vendors/service providers concerning charges which are incorrect or were billed to CPS&S in error.
  • Record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.Perform bookkeeping work, including posting data and keeping other records concerning costs of goods and services and the shipment of goods.
  • Keep records of invoices and support documents.
  • Resolve discrepancies in accounting records.
  • Perform driving activities as may be required by management.
  • All other duties not listed but which may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School degree required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of general accounting experience.
  • Previous (recent) experience as Accounts Payable Clerk with a medium-sized organization required.
  • Proficient if Microsoft Office Products.
  • Demonstrates integrity, maturity, dependability, positive attitude, sound business judgment, leadership ability, and administrative skill in the performance of responsibilities.
  • Communicates with other departments and branches as needed.
  • Maintains an expected level of confidentiality.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, work shops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise as needed.
  • Satisfies/complies with all accrediting and regulatory entities.
  • Consults with and/or advises CFO and/or Controller of problems related to the operations of the organization, branch or department.
  • Above average skills in verbal and written communications.
  • Above average organizational and time management skills.
