THE POSITION

The Department of Facilities, Fleet and Parks is recruiting an Administrative Specialist II for the Facilities Front Office to support the Operations Team within the Facilities Division. Washington County's Facilities, Fleet, and Parks Department is seeking an engaged and reliable administrative professional to join an experienced team providing innovative and collaborative services to meet the business needs of the Operations Division. Our focus is on exceptional customer service and efficient support for Facilities' managers, supervisors, and staff. This full-time position will provide support to the various Division staff as well as provide communications to the liaisons within the workspaces and buildings we maintain. This administrative specialist may also be assigned independent projects or assigned duties to take notes at various meetings. The position offers a variety of tasks and encourages collaboration with internal staff members as well as some external contractors/providers. The administrative specialist will work to develop procedural documents and workflow, assist with parts of the on-boarding of new technicians/staff, support training requests and travel arrangements, and make small material or office supply purchases.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have knowledge/prior experience with a "Work Order System" for dispatching of facilities maintenance requests.
Will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and rapidly pivot tasks. This role requires candidate to manage many competing
priorities on a daily basis. Excellent communications skills both written and verbal is necessary for position. The Facilities Division is looking
for an energetic team player with a passion for public service, an eye for detail, and a strong work ethic with consistent attendance.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.
  • Possession of Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or other applicable certifications may substitute for up to one (1) year of the experience requirement.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements:
  • This position will require the successful completion of a criminal background check.
