As a Associate Director, Medical Regional Operations supporting Global Medical Affairs, you will be trusted to lead regional medical operational strategy and execution, based on medical affairs strategy and aligned with Global Medical Affairs (GMA), Medical Operations goals. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Responsible for regional implementation, oversight and governance of compliant and globally aligned, systems processes, and reporting framework that enable Medical Affairs teams to function compliantly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver medical operation strategy.
  • Create and lead culture of innovation and collaboration within the Medical Operations team.
  • Serve as strategic and operational partner to the Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team (GMALT) and other senior leaders, ad hoc, within the organization.
  • Support the team on developing short- and long-term priorities aligned to the Medical Objectives.
  • Shape, implement and lead world-wide regional operational strategy, long-term planning, execution and cross-functional interactions. Closely collaborate with all Heads of regional Medical Affairs, to ensure Medical Operations goals are aligned with GMA strategy.
  • Implement complex strategies to enable Regional GMA goals utilize innovation to solve complex problems across regions. Responsible for implementing and maintaining effective and globally aligned regional OPMEC infrastructure and reporting.
  • Oversee and support region-based Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) program activities, including but not limited to managing databases, documentation practices, product supply, contracting, payments and reporting.
  • Oversight and governance of GMA customer management systems & related processes utilized within the regions.
  • Ensure vendor management, and payment processes across regions are compliant, effective, and undertaken within relevant timeframes.
  • Lead a high performing, innovative team, that is well trained and developed and that meet goals and objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
