Position Title: Procurement & Planning Leader Position Summary: This position is responsible for all aspects of material planning, purchasing, and optimization of production planning and scheduling with clear ties to production leadership to ensure seamless customer delivery. Leads purchasing and planning team members in day-to-day activities to ensure raw materials are acquired and delivered in the most timely/cost-effective manner possible and production schedules are developed to meet customer backlog and sales forecast. Influences the optimization of production schedule with clear ties to account and order management leadership to ensure seamless customer delivery. Skills, Abilities and Mastery (Responsibility Matrix): Delivery: * Engages with suppliers to ensure material deliveries support production plan * Provides proactive daily communication of potential part shortages and corrective action * Updates and publishes operational key performance metrics * Ensure purchasing and receiving transactions allow for seamless payment to suppliers * Coaching Forward - Create and/or foster a team environment that demonstrates genuine concern for the personal and professional development of all team members, regularly recognizing team members * Communication - Communicate effectively with all team members * Team Building Skills - Ensure the Watlow Way is fully deployed * Goal/Metric Deployment - Direct operations in accordance with Value Stream Assessment (VSA) plan and strategy deployment. * RCCA (Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action)/Problem Solving - Solve problems rapidly utilizing the root cause corrective action process and tools, and coach team members to utilize the tools as well. * Manages data from Time & Attendance System and effectively manage manpower to meet capacity requirements. * Leads department team members to ensure that people, quality, delivery, cost and growth are continuously being improved on to achieve strategy deployment objectives. * Leads / Participate and supports Lean events - Ensure that Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean techniques are being utilized to sustain daily operational improvement. * Utilizes the daily operating system to drive PQDC (People, Quality, Delivery, Cost) performance at the cell level, i.e. * Assures Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) effectively deployed into supply chain operations * 6S - Ensure the development and deployment of a safe and healthy work environment including appropriate training in safety practices. * Follows Standard Operating Process (SOP) for Materials Team Leader * Establishes processes to effectively communicate changes in supply and demand to the supply base * Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
