About the role:

As a Manager, Category Management - Energy Storage you will be the supply chain subject matter expert which will support all of Westinghouse's long duration energy storage (LDES) projects. The Manager will support and be accountable for all bid and proposal efforts, sourcing strategies and implementation, including development of important suppliers to deliver value to the LDES program.

You will help build the supply chain team from the ground up, expanding on our existing foundational processes and relationships to help grow this new technology.

You will report to the Manager - AP1000 Structural Category and be located at the Rock Hill, SC location. Hybrid work schedule.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead relationship between suppliers for LDES projects, including US government awards and procurement, engineering and supply chain project teams.



  • Manage the segmentation of assigned spend into commodity groups, in collaboration with other category managers, to create levers to achieve OPEX



  • Develop an overall category strategy to meet organizational goals by improving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the commodity strategy.



  • Lead the execution of the category strategy through preferred supplier list (PSL),



  • Review analysis from Power BI and other tools to create insights into the drivers of assigned commodity and possible effects to spend and cost projections to use as levers with our supply base.



  • Conduct regular business reviews (SRM) with strategic suppliers with teams and senior leadership.



  • Create presentations for supplier relationship management reviews, commodity strategies, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and supplier/commodity gap analysis.



  • Create a plan to deliver annual our results against metrics of payment terms, on-time delivery, productivity, inflation, and other metrics as determined by Procurement Leadership.



  • Research, track, and communicate industry trends, best practices, applicable indices, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and increased overall productivity




Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience



  • 5+ years of procurement experience (preferably within industries with complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects, with a focus on procurement



  • Experience in negotiations including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development and vendor management



  • US Government contracting experience and familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requirements for procurement



  • ERP system or similar system experience in a global environment (SAP & Ariba)
