Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level Technical Editor to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) by ensuring intelligence products meet the highest standards of clarity, consistency, and accuracy. This role plays a critical part in refining analytic content for senior-level decision-makers across the Intelligence Community (IC).



Responsibilities

Location: DIA HQ, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.

    Edit intelligence reports for grammar, punctuation, syntax, clarity, and logical flow.
  • Ensure compliance with agency publication standards, IC style guides, and specialized terminology.
  • Review and revise tables, tone boxes, and graphics for consistency with accompanying narratives.
  • Validate classification markings per IC classification guidance.
  • Collaborate with authors to restructure and revise products, offering constructive feedback and suggested improvements.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting the DoD or Intelligence Community.
  • 3+ years in a writer, editor, or intelligence analyst role within an IC organization.
  • Proficiency in editing, proofreading, and aligning text with IC analytic and tradecraft standards (ICD 203, ICD 206).
  • Ability to craft and refine intelligence assessments with strong analytical rigor and clarity.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience producing or managing all-source intelligence analysis.
  • Regional knowledge of the Middle East or Africa.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
