Assistant Director of Athletic Compliance

Assists with the day-to-day operations of Creighton University's Athletics Compliance Office. Position assists the Director of Compliance and Associate AD for Compliance in all major areas of compliance operations, including waiver requests, investigating and reporting rules violations, and rules education for a wide variety of constituents. The Assistant Director also oversees numerous monitoring systems, including playing and practice seasons, complimentary tickets, sports camps and donation requests. Appropriately qualified candidates may have an opportunity to assist with NIL activities, SA revenue sharing and related reporting obligations.

  • Monitoring of compliance with NCAA rules, Big East rules and institutional policies. Assists with devising, implementing and maintaining department and University-wide systems for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.. Assists with annual reporting and internal audits.
  • Assist with research and reporting in the areas of rules interpretations, waiver requests and reviewing potential rules violations.
  • Monitoring of internal and external landscapes to identify key educational topics of need. Creation of educational content and programming for all constituents. Presentation of rules education content to coaches, staff, student-athletes and external entities.
  • Assist with NIL, SA revenue sharing and House Settlement obligations. Responsibilities in these areas will be scaled to the background and qualifications of the successful candidate.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned, participation on University committees, maintain awareness of relevant industry news, etc.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's/Juris Doctorate preferred.
  • Two years of experience working in an athletics department.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of NCAA rules, compliance operations and NCAA legislative processes.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and maintain confidentiality and integrity in daily work.
  • Proficient in use of compliance technology products, like Teamworks Hub, Teamworks Compliance and Recruiting, LSDBi, RSRO, Opendorse, NIL Go, and CAPS.
  • Familiarity with administration of athletically related financial aid.
