About the Opportunity:

The Deburring Technician is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from aerospace components to meet strict quality and safety standards. The technician ensures that all parts comply with engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Location: Plainville, CT, onsite 100%

Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual and machine deburring, including the use for hand tools (e.g., files, scrapers, sandpaper, rotary tools) and specialized deburring machines.
  • Polish, smooth, and refine aerospace components to achieve the required surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
  • Inspect finished parts for burrs, defects, and conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure all parts meet aerospace industry standards.
  • Maintain and clean deburring tools and machinery regularly to ensure consistent performance.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, including any issues encountered and resolutions.
  • Complete required production and inspection logs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow company policies and industry regulations, including AS9100 and ISO standards.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors on potential improvements in deburring techniques and tools.
  • Assemble finished parts with needed details to customer specifications
  • Perform required testing on assemblies

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of deburring experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and deburring machinery
  • Must be willing to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Manual dexterity and excellent hand- eye coordination
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
