A global leader in precision calibration services is seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead sales efforts across the western U.S. region. Position Overview
The Regional Sales Director will be responsible for managing a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), Key Account Managers (KAMs), and Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) to drive revenue and profitability across the assigned region. This includes developing and executing strategies to penetrate and grow key accounts across multiple market segments (e.g., Life Sciences, Semiconductor, Aerospace/Defense). The role works closely with the Regional Operations Director to ensure regional sales KPIs are achieved and will develop region-specific sales initiatives and prospecting programs in collaboration with the marketing team. Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and Business Development and works collaboratively with the Regional Operations Director. Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Growth: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue KPIs.
- Key Account Retention: Lead the KAM team to implement KPIs and conduct periodic business reviews to reduce customer churn.
- Organic Growth: Guide BDMs and ISRs to establish and achieve KPI targets for consistent regional growth.
- Sales Process Management: Conduct weekly funnel reviews, provide forecasting insights, and ensure timely updates of all sales KPI tracking tools.
- Account Profitability: Partner with the Regional Operations Director to identify and improve low-profit accounts through strategic actions like pricing adjustments, service mix changes, or, if necessary, disengagement.
- Team Integration: Collaborate with operations leadership to successfully integrate sales functions and personnel from acquisitions, aligning with established policies and systems.
- Team Supervision: Oversee performance and development of assigned BDMs, KAMs, and ISRs.
- Reporting: Generate and deliver regular reports on sales progress, goal achievement, and resource needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of proven sales leadership and process improvement experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
- Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze P&Ls and drive margin improvement strategies.
- Proven ability to foster relationships outside the sales organization.
- Excellent time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Strong leadership, presentation, and organizational abilities.
- Outstanding customer service mindset with the ability to recommend and execute on customer-centric improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
