Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Student, Young Alumni & Family Engagement and working in collaboration with the Alumni & Family Engagement team, campus partners and volunteers, the Assistant/Associate Director of Early Engagement is responsible for leading the development and execution of a holistic engagement strategy for students and graduates of the last decade. This position will facilitate engagement with students from the point of admission to graduation and launch their lifelong relationship with Denison. This role will also play a lead role in developing and executing the engagement strategy for young alumni, designing and leading programming.

Essential Job Functions:

Develop and manage engagement strategies for current students from the point of admission until graduation.

Develop and manage engagement strategies for graduates of the last decade.

Design and execute programming for young alumni

Manage signature programs for students to include but not limited to the Countdown to Commencement, Senior Week, Student Alumni Council and other student programs

Collaborate with Annual Fund to manage the Senior Class Legacy Challenge and to grow senior engagement in the giving program

Develop and manage a recognition program for graduates from the last decade.

Support the 5th and 10th year committees for Reunion. Identify, cultivate, recruit and steward volunteers for each committee.

Lead early engagement programming during Homecoming Week and Big Red Weekend for current students and the young alumni population.

Collaborate withAFEcommunication team on developing young alumni communications

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

A minimum of four years experience, working with students and/or alumni in a higher education setting or event management, or a related field

Program management and event planning skills.

Relevant experience can be substituted for education.

Preferred Qualifications:

6+ years of experience working with students and/or alumni in a higher education setting.

Volunteer management skills are desirable.

Physical Demands:

Position requires walking, climbing stairs and ability to move up to 20 lbs using appropriate equipment or assistance as needed.
