The Senior Director of Verizon Mobility & Home Media will oversee the media strategy and activations for the Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) within the CMO Organization. The role sits within the Media organization and includes primary decision-making ability as well as guidance to agencies, direct reports, and Business Unit (BU) Marketing. The Senior Director will be responsible for Media strategy, planning, holistic measurement, & buying for all communication across consumer general market and segments for Postpaid Mobility & Home, including Devices, Value Proposition, Local & Priority Segments, Products & Services across National & Local. For digital, they'll partner with our best-in-class in-house digital team on digital strategy and buying.

The Senior Director will lead strategy and implementation of cross-channel media for the largest portion of the Verizon enterprise. This role also works closely with other internal teams, which include centralized media functions and external agencies, including key media and measurement partners. This is a critical, high-visibility role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Strategic responsibilities include Media Planning & Buying for the Mobility (Postpaid wireless) and Home Internet and Network (Brand) lines of business with activity-spanning Devices, Value Proposition, Promotions, Local & Segments, Products & Services, and Oversight of strategic planning across National & Local Media

  • Management of full funnel media strategy incorporating touchpoints in TV, Streaming, OOH, Audio, Social, Display, Native, Search

  • Leverage data across tools and channels to further bolster and ensure there are robust data-informed plans

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ad tech platforms across multi-channel programmatic, social media,, audience data providers, and measurement solutions

  • Partner with agency leads and digital teams to establish and refine audience strategy, from profiling & insights, planning through to activation, optimization and measurement

  • Drive demand (digital and retail traffic) for new customer acquisition to meet gross add customer goals for the business

  • Create strategies and plans that drive loyalty and activate the customer base to add additional lines, upgrades, accessory sales & adjacent services

  • Ensure business, marketing briefs and plans are translated into actionable media briefs for agency partners.

  • Partner closely with in-house digital marketing team, and manage Verizon's agency team inclusive of day-to-day management, Agency Review Process, and LOA negotiations

  • Develop Marketing partnerships with national and local media companies

  • Establish and maintain close partnerships with Marketing Activation, Creative, Marketing Effectiveness, Digital Marketing, Consumer Marketing, Sales Strategy, and CX team

  • Primary point of contact with CX team and Measurement Effectiveness teams to monitor forecast and target performance on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis

  • Oversee media pacing, investment management, as well as billing and invoicing

  • Media Performance Reporting (weekly, bi-weekly, quarterly)

  • Tracking commitments with key partners for the business, in partnership with Verizon Digital Team

  • Attend Quarterly Business Reviews with Key Partners

  • Partner with Marketing Effectiveness team to develop measurement plans to understand impact of media in market and how it drives business growth in addition to media metrics

  • Deliver on audience-centric approach through data, insights & activation plans

  • Drive thought leadership agendas and media transformation

  • Partner with the Creator Marketing Team to design our approach to paid media regarding creator, in partnership with cross-functional teams

  • Share key learnings across BUs to build Verizon Enterprise Media knowledge

  • Manage internal team of media specialists at various levels and the extended media agency team.

What We're Looking For:

A passionate, transformational media leader who can balance the brand-building needs with the short-term business results to drive growth through demand generation and demand capture. A dynamic leader with a positive attitude to motivate the team and stakeholders to drive incremental improvements and navigate day-to-day pivots. Curiosity and interest in diving into data to triangulate performance metrics and bring data-driven observations to life in comms planning.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree minimum or equivalent years of experience.

  • Telecom, Retail, CPG, and/or Auto category experience.

  • 12+ years of media experience.

  • Experience in leading media teams that drive the role of media tactics and channels across the full funnel

  • Experience working and managing across a portfolio of brands.

  • Strong full funnel experience across traditional and digital media

  • Experience leveraging complex data sources to drive innovative audience planning and activations

  • Ability to manage a complex and matrixed organization

  • Proven experience working with hybrid team structures, specifically in-house programmatic/social/search teams

  • Experience managing through ambiguity, balancing multiple dynamic priorities but pushing for clarity and aligned direction.

  • Influential storytelling skills, both verbal and written (concise and simple to follow)

  • Ability to understand business strategy and correlate business outcomes to media actions/KPIs.

  • Knowledge of Google suite, proficiency with creating visual presentations.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Ability to be collaborative with team and peers; willing to roll up their sleeves with the team but provide direction with accountability so the team to make decisions and move fast

  • Hands on digital performance experience with understanding of technology that underpins and enables maximum performance.

  • Experience in client-side organizations and/or working close with C-suite executives.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days. Defined work location can be our New York City office or Basking Ridge, NJ HQ.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $190,500.00 - $332,000.00.
