Job Title: Engineering Tech IV

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Tech IV to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential Calibration and HAZMAT Coordination support, ensuring that all calibration tools and components are accurately assessed and maintained. This role involves investigating, analyzing, and performing corrective actions on calibration tools, as well as assisting with the safe disposition of materials related to the demilitarization of electro-optics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with calibration equipment user and vendor in completing a Calibration Measurement Requirement Summary (CMRS) form for the purpose of making an unsupported asset a supported asset. Required by the Calibration lab when equipment TURs is less than the required 4:1 ratio. The CMRS accounts for the required ranges and tolerances for all the equipment functions.
  • Provide technical calibration information for a Crane Action Management System (CAMS) ticket for an OTN resulting in an impact.
  • When required, perform physical movement of calibration equipment to and from lab/NSWC Crane Calibration Lab using a JXQ Government Vehicle.
  • Notify the Calibration Laboratory of any calibration equipment found to be defective.
  • Ensure that Field and User calibrations are performed correctly and properly documented.
  • Report on TMDE delinquent and due for calibration.
  • Update information in the Metbench Calibration Management System (MCMS), as needed.
  • Coordinate with the sub-custodians to prepare the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) form and send equipment to DRMO POC(s)

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of calibration processes and tools.
  • Experience in HAZMAT coordination and hazardous waste management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Requirements
  • Basic understanding of test equipment and ability to understand equipment data sheets for the purpose of completing the Calibration Measurement Requirement Summary (CMRS) form.
  • Basic understanding of how the calibrated equipment, tools, and components are used in the processes of repair related electronic and mechanical devices.
  • Presentation skills. Needed to support/assist the Govt. Calibration Budget POC in explaining the JXQ distributed Calibration costs. Audience may be 4 to 30 people.
  • Proficient with micro-soft PowerPoint and Excel to include pivot tables.
  • Valid driver's license to drive Government vehicle when necessary
  • The position requires active mobility including travel to multiple buildings independently.
  • Buildings have various entry points that include stairs; ability to evacuate a building independently; ability to walk upwards of 5 miles per day; ability to reach items overhead, crouch, and lean over for extended periods of time.
  • The position also requires individual to work independently lifting heavy equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • High School Diploma required
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearence required
