Posting Summary |
The Rutgers School of Social Work is seeking both Practicum Liaisons and Practicum Instructors for the Summer 2025, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.
Practicum Liaisons will work with students in campus-based programs in the Camden, New Brunswick, and Newark regions. Practicum Liaisons are the link between the School of Social Work and the practicum placement agencies. Liaisons mentor students, support the work of the Practicum Instructor, monitor the student's progress and mediate if there are difficulties.
The Practicum Liaison position is a contracted position and there is one work period (a semester) per contract period, summer, fall or spring. Practicum Liaisons generally work with between 5 and 20 students per work term. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Offsite Practicum Instructors will provide practicum instruction to students in campus-based programs in the Camden, New Brunswick, and Newark regions. Practicum Instructors are supervisory teachers who help the students develop and learn from their work at their practicum placement. Offsite Practicum instructors meet once a week for an hour with their students to provide supervisions. They review students' process or journal recordings, and they develop Learning Contracts at the beginning of the semester. At the end of the semester, they complete the student's practicum evaluation. They maintain contact with the student's Task Supervisor at the practicum agency.
The program ensures the following:
1. Baccalaureate students receive practicum supervision from an individual who holds a baccalaureate or master's degree in social work from a
CSWE-accredited program and who has at least two years of post-social work degree practice experience in social work.
2. Master's students receive practicum supervision from an individual who holds a master's degree in social work from a
CSWE-accredited program and who has at least two years of post-master's social work degree practice experience in social work.
The Off-site Practicum Instructor position is a contracted position and there is one work period (a semester) per contract period, summer, fall or spring. Travel expenses are reimbursed. |
