Construction Project Scheduler

6+ Month Contract

Manassas, VA

We are seeking an expert Construction Project Scheduler to support a large-scale program with multiple complex project schedules. This role requires a hands-on master scheduler who can collaborate with diverse teams to develop detailed, resource-loaded, effort-driven, and fully networked schedules incorporating external dependencies.

Responsibilities:




  • Develop and oversee detailed critical path schedules using MS Project, and transition these schedules to Microsoft Planner for automated progress tracking, demonstrating strong command of both platforms.



  • Coordinate across various teams to create comprehensive, resource-loaded schedules that support Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, enabling precise monitoring of labor, scope, timing, and budget performance.



  • Serve as a hands-on scheduling expert by directly crafting project timelines, advising teams on best scheduling practices, and updating progress weekly to assist with monthly ECAC forecasting via EVM reports.



  • Deliver training and produce clear process documentation to ensure consistent and accurate schedule upkeep throughout the project lifecycle.



  • Apply industry knowledge of construction processes, particularly working closely with General Contractors, to align scheduling strategies with real-world workflows.




Qualifications:




  • Demonstrated mastery of MS Project scheduling techniques and experience migrating schedules to Microsoft Planner or similar online tools.



  • Strong familiarity with Earned Value Management principles and practical application in project tracking.



  • Proven track record managing complex, resource-intensive critical path schedules from inception through execution.



  • Effective ability to mentor team members and create procedural guides to uphold scheduling standards.



  • Prior experience within the construction sector, especially collaborating with General Contractors and understanding construction-specific scheduling challenges.
