Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in support of a senior level administrator or executive; thorough knowledge of office practices, software and systems; ability to communicate effectively with all campus constituents and the public and working familiarity with management principles at organization-wide level required. Supervisory experience and demonstrated familiarity with post-secondary educational administration preferred.

Nature and Scope of Duties

The Executive Assistant to the President reports to the President of the College and acts as a vital bridge between the President and the broader college community, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the president's office and contributing to the overall success of the institution. This role involves managing the president's schedule, communications, events, and interactions with various stakeholders, while also handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

* Manages the operations of the Office of the President and coordinates and supervises all clerical staff assigned to the Office.

* Provides crucial administrative and operational support.

* Responsible for executing the financial and administrative affairs of the office of the President.

* Serves as a point of contact between the President and internal/external stakeholders, including senior administrators, trustees, faculty, staff, students, and the public, referring requests to appropriate individuals or responding when appropriate.

* Represents the Office of the President, as appropriate, in ensuring the resolution of issues that are brought to the office of the President by students, parents, and other constituencies.

* Keeps President advised on scheduling and progress of various periodic reports essential to the operation of the College.

* Works with the appropriate members of the Executive Team to ensure institutional responses by established deadlines.

* Assists with special events, projects, and initiatives involving the President's office, in collaboration with members of the Executive Team and members of the President's office.

* May serve as a member of various College committees at the direction of the President.

* Reviews travel documents requiring Presidential approval.

* Communicates information, requests and actions to appropriate individuals on behalf of the Office of the President.

* In collaboration with the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing, drafts weekly communication to the Board of Trustees for the President's review and approval.

* Working with members of the Executive Team, reviews and summarizes information and supporting data in preparation for meetings, projects, speeches and reports.

* Position may require non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends

* Performs other duties as may be assigned.

This is a full-time 12-month, Management Confidential position with a salary range of $60,000.00 to $65,000.00.
