Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Executive Assistant provides support to the Associate Provost and Professor of Instructional Technology through calendar management, event scheduling and coordination, presentation preparation, room reservations and communications as need. In addition, this position will provide management support for the daily operations and any special projects.
This position provides administrative support for the
TLLS units (Randall Library, Distance Education and eLearning, and Center for Teaching Excellence) as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience;or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience |
- 5 years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience
- Demonstrated ability to foster relationships with faculty, staff, students and community members at varying levels internal and external to the University
- Ability to gather data, sort complex information, and prepare reports
- Ability to analyze and interpret policies and guidelines, as well as detailed knowledge of administrative office work processes
- Ability to work in teams and to maintain effective professional relationships
- Ability to work independently, manage a variety of tasks, follow-up on assignments, and take initiative on projects (time and project management proficiency)
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Planner), SharePoint, Outlook (including mail, calendar and tasks) and Teams
- Demonstrated experience with Zoom, including creating meetings, managing breakout rooms and meeting tools, and hosting hybrid meetings with some participants in-person and some virtual
- Experience supporting a senior leader at a college or university
- Skilled at scheduling and maintaining a rapidly changing calendar/schedule for a busy executive
- Ability to quickly, competently, and professionally organize a myriad of factors into a cohesive and useful output
- Ability to work in a team, coordinating work with others when necessary, and able to provide the impetus and guidance to move a project or issue forward
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- A basic knowledge /understanding of the administrative and financial rules of operation at UNCW
- Customer service oriented and skilled at creating a welcoming and responsive atmosphere for visitors and campus partners
