Job Summary

Develop, implement, and coordinate the assigned Student Life programs and activities. Support the goals and objectives for Student Success through daily operations and consistent college wide practices.


Essential Duties

All student programming to include development, supply ordering, facilities set up and tear down. educational benefits, staffing, food prep, clean up, supply distribution, marketing, check in, data collection and entry, and budgeting.

Supervise FWS and other staff to include HR initial forms, hiring, training, supervision, timesheet approval, and scheduling.

Student Union oversight to include working with ABM and Facilities when things need attention, setting and resetting meeting and common spaces after events, room reservations, front line triage for vending machines, maintenance issues, spills, copy machines, guests needing assistance, outside vendors using Student Union space.

Serve as Student organization lead for about 50 active groups to include communication, by-law/constitution management and updates, software training, advisor questions, travel coordination, and event support.

Student Life office management to include front desk coverage, ID making, scheduling, supply ordering, oversight of programs, and troubleshooting of all issues.

General student support to include reference writing, assistance with college referrals, classroom advice, student engagement information, etc.

Fuel Pantry management to include staying up to date on trainings, sourcing and ordering food, food rotation, stocking, and organization of Fuel Pantry food items, shopping bags, and miscellaneous supplies.

Collaborate with Faculty and Departments across campus to support classroom and cross departmental goals to include partnering with them on programs, assisting with community opportunities, and speaking to classes about on campus opportunities and benefits.

Commencement to include serving on Commencement committee and on-site operations of all commencement ceremonies.


Minimum Qualifications

Ability to acquire food handler's permit.

3 years work history in student development such as organization advising, program development or event management in an educational setting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and/or experience in student government, student organizations, and coordination of workshops, seminars, and small group activities.

Ability to work on a team.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Ability to travel between TCC campuses.

Ability to move tables and chairs, haul food boxes, stand on feet for long periods of time during events; withstand weather such as cold, wind or rain during events.


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in student development, liberal arts fields, recreation, or event planning. Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.

Experience in working with all populations in a community college setting.
