Starting salary $45.08/hour ($94,087/year) and a competitive total compensation package!*

 

Supervising Park Rangers have a vital role to educate and inform visitors about park rules, and promote safety to create positive experiences. They interact and collect day use and camping fees, respond to inquiries and complaints, patrols routes, preforms cleanliness inspections, cleans facilities, and correct hazardous conditions which may include light maintenance. Supervising Park Rangers in the Operations division oversee park operations and maintenance, and trains staff in medical care, and emergency services. Additionally, this position requires empathy, tact, a positive mindset, and the ability to gain the trust and confidence with staff and the community to build effective relationships.

 

As an ideal candidate, you will provide excellent customer service, be a self-motivator, and work well independently and as part of a team. Additionally, you will have the ability to shift gears-quickly, thrive working in a fast-paced environment, enjoy interacting with people, and possess many of the following:

  • Three or more years' experience as a professional Park Ranger
  • Experience supervising, leading, and directing staff and/or team projects
  • Excellent communication abilities for public speaking, responding to public questions, comments, and concerns
  • Experience as a first responder, providing first aid, and emergency medical care
  • Review and provide oversight on medical and incident reports to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to reporting standards
  • The ability to assist in the development and delivery of programs for the community
  • Experience overseeing, handling, and reconciling cash transactions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
