Definition:

The Assistant Director of Revenue Management is responsible for supporting the Director of Revenue Management and to assist in driving revenue from all property streams to include pricing, distribution, promotions, group evaluation, leisure and corporate revenue production, food & beverage sales, resort outlet sales including golf, marina, spa, tennis and activities, and market penetration.

General Duties:



  • Facilitate a group block management program to ensure contracted blocks are being maintained, forecasted, yielded, and released at appropriate times.


Forecasting and Accounting



  • Actively involved in the creation of the weekly Ops Rooms Forecast.
  • Ensures actual revenues from PMS and Accounting systems match.
  • Update Accounting system with any new rate plans and ensure systems are synced.


Transient Pricing and Demand Evaluation



  • Distribute the Daily Detail Report to Resort and Crescent Management.
  • Utilize key 3rd party reports to aid in effectively pricing units and ensuring inventory is synced.
  • Work directly with Reservations Department to ensure all negotiated accounts, promotions, packages and any other Leisure rate codes are clearly communicated to the team before launch.


Electronic Distribution and Systems Knowledge



  • Develop and maintain electronic distribution strategy to include 3rd party internet content and positioning, market manager relationships, and GDS distribution.
  • Monitor all electronic distribution sites on a regular basis to ensure all transient rates and available room types are loaded and accessible.
  • Effective management of all third party OTA's, private sales, and opaque channels to ensure optimization of channel management.
  • Prepare weekly Revenue Strategy packet with a consistent agenda and verified data, along with follow up notes from previous meetings.
  • Produce daily, weekly, monthly core group of reports such as forecasts, market segmentation detail, channel distribution, competitive rate analysis and pace (group and transient).
  • Become the hotel systems expert in regards to Revenue Management functionality and support.


Leadership



  • Perform the duties of the Director of Revenue Management in his absence.


Employment standards:



  • Prior hotel revenue management experience.
  • Ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively.
  • Affinity for numerical judgment.
  • Strong knowledge of tourism industry, leisure, convention and incentive group markets including customer segmentation, distribution systems, and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of development and distribution strategies of all types of marketing communications materials.
  • Wants to be held accountable to numbers and hard quantifiable goals.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of distribution channels and third-party OTA management.
  • Knowledge of general business, legal, and management practices, including leadership experience in coaching, mentoring, challenging and enabling employees to successfully meet objectives and goals.
  • Ability to make effective, persuasive public and written presentations.
  • Ability to respond effectively to quickly changing priorities and responsibilities.
  • Ability to absorb and manage workload requiring irregular evening and weekend work hours and some out-of-town travel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to utilize them effectively in English with guests, peers and associates.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and balance multiple commitments simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service aptitude.
  • Understanding of budgetary and fiscal responsibility within the department.
  • Familiarity with all operational areas of the property.
