About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Compressor Assembler to join our 2nd shift team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for assembling and disassembling Frick and other compressors, diagnosing issues, and ensuring each unit meets our high standards of performance and safety.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble and disassemble new and rebuilt compressors using:
    • Pneumatic and electric hand tools
    • 100-ton press
    • Oxygen-acetylene torch
  • Design and fabricate safe methods for dismantling locked compressors
  • Inspect internal components for wear and machining issues using precision measuring tools
  • Diagnose root causes of compressor failures and report findings
  • Determine usability of parts (scrap, rework, or reuse) with minimal supervision
  • Align and fit parts accurately to ensure optimal compressor performance
  • Interpret sales orders and blueprints independently
  • Maintain detailed teardown reports, logs, and schedules
  • Coordinate with other departments for parts, scheduling, and shipments
  • Uphold 5S standards for a clean and safe work environment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen and problem-solving teams
