Regional Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S)

Location: US Remote, with the expectation of proximity to a major metropolitan area or airport for travel purposes.

Travel: ~40%

What you will do

As theRegional Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing the EH&S strategy across North American operations. This position is ideal for a visionary leader who thrives on driving cultural transformation and operational excellence. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing policies and programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as a trusted partner to field services, manufacturing, and distribution teams. As a key member of the global EH&S Leadership Team, you'll influence enterprise-wide strategy, champion standardization, and lead a regional team committed to achieving Zero Harm. This is more than a compliance role - it's an opportunity to be a change agent and strategic leader in a dynamic, multi-site environment.

How You Will Do It

  • Drive the implementation of EH&S systems, programs, and strategies across multiple sites and projects, ensuring alignment with global objectives.

  • Oversee adherence to local, state, and federal regulations; collaborate with legal and regulatory agencies; and support environmental permit compliance (Air, Water, Waste).

  • Lead, mentor, and engage EH&S professionals across the region to build a high-performing, safety-focused culture.

  • Support the deployment of safety and environmental policies, procedures, and best practices across operations.

  • Act as a change agent to enhance EH&S performance, track progress against KPIs, and lead initiatives that support a Zero Harm culture.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure managers and employees understand and apply EH&S principles effectively.

  • Lead incident investigations, ensure root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and conduct audits and risk assessments.

  • Maintain accurate EH&S data, compile reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies, and leverage insights to inform decision-making.

What We Look For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Safety, or related field.

  • 15+ years of EHS and leadership experience in manufacturing, with knowledge of relevant regulations; 5+ years managing EHS teams across multiple sites.

  • Experience with regional environmental policies and regulatory agency interactions.

  • Strong leadership, presentation, training, organization, and planning skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access, TEAMS, PowerPoint) and Process MAP EHS software.

  • Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Success in managing systems and processes, being action-oriented and energetic.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%.

Preferred:

  • EHS certification (ASP, CSP, PE, CHMM).

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodology.
