JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under the general supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge, the Pharmacy Technician will assist in all areas of pharmacy operations, including prescription preparation, transactions, customer service, and inventory maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in all aspects of the fulfillment process. Including but not limited to answering the telephone, transcribing orders, entering prescriptions, counting and labeling prescriptions, and completing cash register transactions, mailing/shipping prescriptions to patients/clinics, etc.
  • Works with physician's offices for prior authorization
  • Verifies patient insurance benefits and assisting in finding patient assistance
  • Manages drug and supply inventory by placing daily orders through wholesalers, putting up the daily order, processing returns, monitoring expiration dates, etc.
  • Performs periodic waiting bin audits
  • Generates applicable reports from various systems when needed
  • Validates and processes invoices into Centerstone's Workday system to ensure prompt payments and filing in respective vendor folders
  • Performs basic housekeeping / cleaning duties to maintain a clean working environment
  • Provides thoughtful feedback and solutions to pharmacists and colleagues to develop comprehensive patient care plans
  • Prioritizes, communicates, and resolves patient and client concerns to provide optimal patient care

  • Exceptional customer service skills, someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with patients over the phone.
  • Team player, organized, and an effective problem solver
  • Excels in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication with exceptional verbal and written skills

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

  • High School diploma or GED required

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of related experience in pharmacy order entry
  • Requires background working in a community pharmacy with a general understanding of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy operations

Certification/Licensure

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician, CPhT license is a plus but not required

$19.10--$26.80
