Job Summary

The ideal candidate for the Systems Senior Engineer position is a dynamic and perpetual learner possessing a comprehensive understanding of enterprise infrastructure systems. They should demonstrate proven expertise in configuring both physical and virtual servers, along with storage and SAN systems. A strong capability to automate processes through scripting languages such as PowerShell is essential, as is experience with deploying and managing solutions across Azure and AWS environments.

As a Systems Senior Engineer at Westfield, you will be integral to the maintenance and optimization of our distributed systems infrastructure and associated technologies. In this role, you will take charge of the design, deployment, and management of Westfield's enterprise infrastructure solutions, which encompass operating systems, core domain services, virtualization, cloud services, x86 servers, and storage systems. You will also oversee enterprise backup solutions, data center management, and containerization. Furthermore, your responsibilities will include comprehensive infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and a steadfast commitment to ensuring security and compliance with company policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and supports enterprise-wide infrastructure and systems.

  • Monitors and manages the health of infrastructure systems to ensure maximum availability, performing proactive maintenance and upgrades throughout an assets lifecycle.

  • Implements and maintains security baselines, applies patches, and ensures currency for all components throughout their operational lifecycle.

  • Enforces system and data security through the implementation of controls and logging mechanisms, ensuring compliance with the company's Information Security Policies.

  • Develops, maintains, and updates standards, policies, and procedures related to the management, maintenance, recovery, and utilization of services provided by the Windows team.

  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable infrastructure architectures and contribute to the development of policy recommendations.

  • Maintains accurate inventory of all datacenter assets and ensures the management of service agreements.

  • Contributes enterprise-scale projects by translating business requirements into technical designs that align with strategic objectives.

  • Performs troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network incidents, implementing effective solutions to resolve issues across the organization.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering and Administration.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, and/or equivalent professional experience.

  • Ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.).

  • Operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.).

  • Travel as required.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Location

Hybrid defined as three (3) or more days per week in the office.

  • Advanced experience with VMware

  • Certificate Management/PKI

  • Automation: PowerShell, Terraform, Azure DevOps.

  • Intermediate to Advanced Troubleshooting skills.

  • Intermediate Networking Knowledge, including load balancing technologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and ability to document technical procedures effectively.
