Demand Planning Manager

PURPOSE

Your role as a Manager, Demand Planning is to support creation of multi-season product plans (volume and value) for assigned Product Category(s) to deliver against strategic, financial and operational planning objectives. Serves as key planning partner for assigned Category teams driving seasonal Category plan development, providing guidance and decision-support, and enabling operational execution. Ensures integrity and transparency of Category performance measurement against plan to ensure market objectives are achieved.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning



  • Responsible for creation of multi-season product concept plans (volume and value) in partnership with Merchandising teams Omni-Category seasonal plans support strategic planning, lifecycle planning, go-to-market (GTM) execution and provide early demand signals
  • Responsible for article-level operational Rolling Demand Plan (RDP) for Wholesale (WHS) channel (volume and value) which serves as buy signal to supply chain management (SCM) to create and deliver supply
  • Accountable for Omni-Category demand plan across horizons; partnering closely with Channel Demand Planning and Directo to Consumer (DTC) Buying and Planning to review, maintain and execute
  • Ensures planning connectivity across horizons between integrated business plan (IBP) and bottoms up product plans (RDP) through Channel and Category demand guidance
  • Development of strong forecasting approach; balancing data, strategy and market signals to inform plan creation and execution
    Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results
  • Shape forecast assumptions through Category, range and distribution strategy
  • Identify and analyze business risks and opportunities to determine impact on operational and financial plans; review and reconcile significant variances to plans
  • Provides seasonal and ad hoc analysis and scenario planning to support range selection, pricing and margin analysis; partnering closely with Demand Planning Margin Team, Range Architecture and Merchandising
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve planning accuracy
  • Lead and participate in team or cross-functional projects as require


Execution



  • Ensure execution of demand plan to enable clear demand signal, buy availability and readiness for supply; Partners with SCM on buy readiness, BER resolution and availability
  • Ensure seasonal planning readiness and execution through system maintenance (ranging, size curve creation, etc.) and active monitoring (i.e. Mins, Buy Cutoffs, etc)
  • Partners with and guides Demand Planning Analyst(s) on execution and maintenance of plan in systems, seasonal planning readiness and maintain for data coding AND reporting


Reviews and Insights



  • Leads monthly planning reviews with Category Managers and other key partners to ensure quality plan development and alignment
  • Key participant in Category business reviews, IBP submissions, and global alignment checkpoints; providing data, analysis, recommendations and decision-support
  • Provides Cross-Functional partners and Demand Planning Leadership with relevant data, analysis and reports to drive insights and enable informed decision-making; develops reporting and tools to support


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Strong analytical and numerical skills; attention to detail
  • Effective communication and relationship-building across functions
  • Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in PowerBI and PowerPoint
  • Advanced understanding of key demand planning concepts
  • Foundational understanding of key financial concepts
  • Experience with advanced Data Modeling and Statistical Analysis preferred
  • Excellent SAP knowledge (APO & AFS); experience with IBP a plus


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field OR equivalent combintation of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in demand planning, supply chain, or financial analysis
  • Experience in consumer goods, apparel/footwear, or retail environments preferred
