Job Description

The College of Education & Human Development (CEHD) is seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of undergraduate recruitment programs. The individual in this position reports to the Director of Recruitment and College Engagement and works in conjunction with the Senior Recruitment Coordinator to drive strategic recruitment efforts, foster inclusive outreach, and facilitate retention, and overall success of all members of our student community - especially those who have traditionally faced barriers to higher education (e.g., First Generation). This role includes administrative responsibilities, data collection, event coordination, mentorship, collaboration, and educator duties that shift based on student need, projects, and programming occurring during the academic calendar.

To support recruitment efforts, the person in the position will:

  • Conduct building tours and participate in on-campus recruitment events for prospective students and their families (some evenings and weekends required).
  • Travel to high schools, community colleges, and college fairs across Missouri and select out-of-state locations to deliver presentations and represent the CEHD (some evenings and weekends required).
  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools and community colleges in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, and Texas to coordinate visits and explore future collaboration opportunities.
  • Assist in planning and executing recruitment related events (both in-person and virtual) focused on focused on academic, financial, and social themes, including logistics such as space reservations, marketing, setup, cleanup, and catering.
  • Welcome students, faculty, and staff, as well as prospective students and their families to the CEHD; assess needs and provide referrals to appropriate campus resources.
  • Work collaboratively with CEHD Senior Recruitment Coordinator, student ambassadors, student workers, staff, and faculty.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to undergraduate recruitment and CEHD Leadership Ambassador program.
  • Manage and create content for recruitment social media platform (@mizzoucehdambassadors IG).
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Office of Recruitment & College Engagement through teamwork and shared responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the college.

Success in this role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to engage prospective students and families, proficiency in developing and delivering presentations, collaboration with other units in the Division of Student Success & Academic Affairs, and the capacity to create and evaluate recruitment metrics.

Shift

Monday through Friday

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with anticipated nights and weekends during the busiest phases of the recruitment cycle.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
  • 2 years of related experience post-Master's degree.
  • Experience with recruitment and retention efforts and programming.
  • Proficiency in public speaking, facilitation, data collection and analysis, and event coordination.
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Zoom.
  • A valid Driver's license.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $21.30 to $24.50

Grade: GGS-009
