Builds and maintains meaningful relationships with donors through timely and thoughtful recognition, personalized communication, and
accurate data management. Oversees donor stewardship initiatives, including the Donor Recognition Society, digital recognition walls, and
naming opportunities. Supports gift processing, ensures data integrity in Blackbaud CRM, and collaborates across departments to deliver
impactful and mission-aligned donor experiences that enhance donor satisfaction and long-term engagement.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Maintains and coordinates donor relationships and initiatives, as well as maintains donor stewardship systems.
  • Manages the annual holiday donor recognition process and maintains special stewardship communication with donors including birthday cards, anniversary cards, and thinking of you cards.
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to ensure donor stewardship material complies with organizational messaging and branding; enhances and is innovative with donor stewardship communication strategies, vehicles, and opportunities.
  • Prepares queries, analysis, and reporting for donor stewardship activities.
  • Manages and monitors Donor Recognition Society data and updates information to be displayed on our Digital Recognition Society walls in a timely manner.
  • Engages donors and prospective donors in an appropriate manner and cultivates the relationships.
  • Manages donor inquiries as appropriate by mail, email, or phone in a timely manner and monitors following up as needed.
  • Manages and maintains the donor Naming Opportunity module within BB CRM, including a complete inventory of existing Named Opportunities and any that arise in the future; manages the Named Opportunity messaging and plaques to ensure they remain in good condition.
  • Manages naming opportunities and donor stewardship programs to affiliate sites.
  • Trains identified staff as back-up to the above duties.
  • Coordinates pertinent data gathering and ensures it is properly and accurately recorded in database.
  • Ensures daily processes, preparation, and recording of high dollar donations are recorded accurately and timely.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of donor relations and development practices.
  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to build and sustain successful, professional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.
  • Strong knowledge of Boys Town model and fidelity of care.
  • Service orientation and commitment to assisting donors with enthusiasm.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, journalism, marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience including administrative and donor relations required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
