DLZ Corporation is looking for Drillers in Columbus, OH and Bridgeville, PA. What You'll Do:
- Drilling Operations: Operate DLZ drill rigs and equipment, specializing in auger, mud, rotary, and core drilling, along with various subsurface sampling techniques. Install monitoring wells and downhole instrumentation.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the safe operation and proper maintenance of all drill rigs, support equipment, vehicles, machinery, and tools. Conduct daily and preventative maintenance checks, reporting any unsafe conditions or required repairs promptly to the Drill Shop Mechanic or Drilling Manager.
- Project Execution: Understand project scope from the Drilling Manager, Project Engineer, or client, ensuring timely procurement of equipment and personnel. Determine the most effective and efficient methods for subsurface exploratory drilling and sampling.
- Reporting & Communication: Routinely update the Drilling Manager on work progress. Complete daily shift reports, accurately accounting for time and materials, and obtain client signatures. Notify the Drilling Manager immediately of any field emergencies.
- Safety: Direct all personnel on or around drilling operations to work safely, adhering to the National Drilling Foundation's Drilling Safety Guidebook and DLZ's Health and Safety Plan.
- Fabrication: Perform welding, cutting, and fabricating as needed.
- Company Representation: Act as a positive representative of DLZ's core values.
- Travel: Travel to project sites and stay out-of-town as required.
What You'll Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of Driller experience, or equivalent.
- Basic computer/iPad skills.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Capable of performing manual labor in inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to travel and stay out-of-town as required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background, and driving record checks.
- Commitment to performing all work safely and responsibly, in accordance with DLZ's Health and Safety Plan.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class A CDL license.
- 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
