Pay rate: $33.00/hr on W2 without benefits

Duration: 12-24+ months (possible extension)

Shift Hours/Week: 8-12 hours

Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night).- day

Must have:

  • Bilingual-Spanish.
  • Associates degree.
  • Substance abuse experience.


Job Description:

  • Client is hiring a per-diem research recruiter to work on a federally funded research study focused on examining the effectiveness of a substance use prevention program for child welfare involved youth.
  • Bilingual conversational Spanish required.
  • Manager is looking at a September start, and candidate will work through end of 2025, with a reduction in hours January- March 2026, picking back up in April. From there, hours will be consistently 10-12/week for up to 2 years.
  • Some weekday evening availability is required, strong preference for candidates who also have weekend availability .


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Office of Data Analytics, Evaluation, and Continuous Quality Improvement, the research recruiter will identify families who may be eligible for the research study and will contact eligible families over the telephone to share information about the project. The research recruiter will refer interested and eligible families who provide their consent to be contacted to the research partners at Rhode Island Hospital.
  • The research recruiter will meet with the researchers at Rhode Island Hospital on a regular basis to provide updates on progress towards meeting recruitment goals.


Required Skills:

  • Fluency in conversational Spanish is required.
  • Candidate should have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Candidate should have prior experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Candidate should have experience communicating over the phone in previous roles


Required Experience:

  • The position is expected to be 8-12 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling.
  • Some weekday evening availability is required, strong preference for candidates who also have weekend availability
