Essential Duties



  • Uphold CW's mission and values while demonstrating professionalism in all tasks.

  • Actively participate in the performance of landscaping tasks, including but not limited to lawn care, planting, mulching, pruning, irrigation maintenance, and basic landscape installations. Provide guidance to crew members as needed during execution.

  • Provide on-site direction and support to landscaping crew members, ensuring they understand daily assignments and perform tasks in alignment with project expectations set by the Project Manager.

  • Monitor work throughout the day to ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations.

  • Reinforce compliance with company policies, site procedures, and expectations as directed by the Project Manager, including adherence to scheduled break times, proper tool usage, and general worksite conduct.

  • Perform routine inspections of landscaping tools and equipment to identify signs of wear, malfunction, or maintenance needs. Ensure that equipment is used according to manufacturer guidelines and company policy.

  • Conduct visual inspections of serviced areas to ensure work has been completed to specifications and that no damage has occurred to surrounding property, particularly government-owned or sensitive areas.

  • Promote a safety-first mindset among all crew members and lead by example in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

  • Promptly report any unsafe conditions, inaccessible work areas, or environmental hazards to the Project Manager.

  • Ensure full compliance with local traffic regulations and company driving policies when operating CW Resources equipment on or near public roadways.

  • Accurately complete service documentation, including records of work performed, issues encountered, corrective actions taken, and any relevant site observations.

  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager to relay updates, request clarification, or escalate concerns.

  • Actively participate in all required training programs, demonstrating proficiency in company-mandated safety and compliance training, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations and best practices.

  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities, as needed.


Qualifications and Educational Requirements



  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-year hands on experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field.

  • Additional Requirements: Familiarity with a variety of landscaping tools, equipment, and techniques (e.g., mowing, trimming, planting, irrigation systems). Basic knowledge of horticultural practices, seasonal plant care, and soil preparation. Basic knowledge of landscaping safety protocols, including equipment safety, PPE use, and hazard recognition. Valid driver's license.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Possess relevant landscaping certifications (e.g., pesticide applicator, irrigation technician, horticulture)

  • Possess relevant OSHA certification (e.g., OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour).

  • Familiarity with sustainable landscaping practices, including water conservation, native plant use, and eco-friendly pest management techniques.

  • Basic knowledge of irrigation system design and maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.

  • Ability to take a detail-oriented approach when inspecting worksites before and after tasks to ensure all work is completed to specification, meets quality standards, and maintains site cleanliness and safety.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with crew members to provide direction, clarify expectations, and offer guidance on tasks.

  • Ability to interact effectively with crew members by maintaining open, respectful communication and promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment.


Physical and Environmental Demands



  • Work Environment: Work is primarily performed outdoors, often exposed to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain, along with environmental factors like sun, dust, pollen, and other allergens.

  • Noise Level: The work environment may also include high noise levels due to the operation of machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers) and traffic, requiring the ability to communicate effectively in noisy conditions.

  • Communication: Must have the ability to effectively communicate in outdoor environments, including directing crew members and coordinating tasks in noisy conditions (e.g., machinery, traffic).

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and move throughout outdoor work areas for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more per shift) in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle, operate, and maintain various landscaping tools and machinery, including lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, edger's, and other power equipment.

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy landscaping materials (up to 50 pounds), including plants, soil, mulch, and equipment. Capable of moving efficiently across job sites to oversee crew activities, assess project progress, and actively engage in various landscaping tasks.

  • Hazard Awareness: Exposure to potentially hazardous materials and conditions, such as hot equipment surfaces, moving machinery, sharp tools, power equipment, chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides), and uneven terrain.

  • Safety Compliance: Must adhere to established safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, including gloves, hearing protection, non-slip footwear, eye protection, and other safety gear relevant to landscaping tasks.

  • Work Hours and Shifts: Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
