Your Job Georgia-Pacific's Albany Corrugated facility is seeking highly motivated students enrolled in Albany Technical College's Mechatronics Program to join our Maintenance Team as Industrial Maintenance Intern. This internship provides valuable real-world experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting your academic and career goals. This opportunity is part of a strategic partnership between Georgia-Pacific and Albany Technical College.

Our Team

The Albany Corrugated facility employs approximately 160 team members dedicated to supporting Georgia-Pacific as one of the nation's leading corrugated packaging manufacturers. As part of GP's Packaging & Cellulose business, our site plays a critical role in producing high-performance corrugated boxes that support supply chains across a range of industries from agriculture to commerce.

Shift

* Flexible part-time hours: 20-30 hours per week

* Work schedules will be accommodated around class times, testing, and school closures

Compensation

* $22.66/hour

* Funded jointly through a workforce development grant and GP contributions during the first 12 weeks

* GP assumes full wage responsibility beyond the 12-week period until ATC Mechatronics Program completion

What You Will Do

* Participate in on-the-job training (OJT) alongside experienced maintenance technicians and leaders

* Support the troubleshooting, maintenance, startup, and commissioning of plant equipment

* Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation

* Assist in routine preventive maintenance tasks and daily inspections

* Learn how to identify mechanical and electrical issues using measuring instruments, diagnostics, and drawings

* Practice safe work behaviors and contribute to maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment

* Engage in continuous improvement by identifying areas for operational or maintenance enhancements

* Build technical skills and professional confidence in a real-world industrial setting

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Currently enrolled and in good academic standing in the Mechatronics Program at Albany Technical College

* Strong interest in industrial maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems, and safety practices

* Willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a high-performing team

What Will Put You Ahead

* Experience with hand or power tools

* Familiarity with maintenance concepts, such as troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, or machine diagnostics

* Interest in continuous learning, process improvement, and manufacturing excellence

* Strong communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated work ethic
