Hill International is seeking a Project Controls Generalist in San Diego, California
- Prepare, coordinate, and document medium to complex financial analysis projects, with an emphasis on identifying trends, anomalies, and patterns in financial data.
- Perform technical writing duties, including drafting and editing SOPs, work instructions, and project documentation.
- Manage schedules and analyze progress against timelines, identifying and mitigating potential delays while recommending proactive solutions.
- Demonstrate general working knowledge of systems and protocols used in electrical utility deployments, including substation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.
- Track and support technical operations spanning multiple task orders and personnel across various sites.
- Facilitate and lead project meetings, site-walks, and coordination sessions in support of project managers.
- Create, update, and manage project documentation and version control across multiple programs.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contribute to documentation standardization and continuous improvement.
- Produce detailed process flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio to support cross-functional alignment and project clarity.
- Support change management initiatives and contribute to process optimization efforts.
- Conduct training sessions for project team members on tools, procedures, and documentation standards, enhancing team efficiency and consistency.
- Manage records from initiation to archival, collaborating with Document Control Specialists to ensure compliance with naming conventions and protocol adherence.
- B.S. in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent field; comparable experience considered with client approval.
- 3-5+ years' experience in direct project coordination support for infrastructure/construction initiatives: Electrical/Gas Substation, Compressor, Transmission, Distribution, IT, or Civil projects.
- CAPM, Agile, or other relevant project management certifications, along with training development and facilitation experience.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to assess and communicate the financial impact of projects.
- Proficient in technical problem solving and developing innovative business cases and project justifications.
- Outstanding communication skills: verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal-capable of tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
- Skilled in technical writing, especially in drafting and structuring SOPs, guidelines, and process documentation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visio.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in dynamic environments.
The salary range for this position is $115,000-$128,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
