Position Summary: The Senior Production Performance Specialist is a key player in ensuring the safety, quality, and performance of our production lines. - Mastering the Fundamentals: Ensure the proper implementation of Life-Saving Rules, STOP & THINK, GMPs, and 5S practices within the area.
- Comprehensive Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of Safety, Quality, Cost, Nestle Continuous Excellence, TPM, and the company handbook.
- Ownership of Key Performance Indicators: Monitor and report on key performance indicators every 24 hours, including planned stoppages, unplanned stoppages, first-time quality, and material usage variance.
- Development of Key Standards: Create and enhance standard routines applicable to the area, including Safety, Centerlines, and Cleaning-Inspection-Lubrication protocols.
- Guidance for Supervisors: Provide direction and support to production supervisors regarding these standards, ensuring they are equipped to verify execution by operators.
- Action Plans for Loss Reduction: Propose and implement action plans to address major losses through the SDCA cycle, striving for zero loss.
- Root Cause Analysis Support: Facilitate and challenge root cause analysis using established problem-solving techniques (GSTD) and follow up on actions to prevent recurrence.
- Leadership in Meetings: Lead daily shift change meetings, DOR, SHO, and other necessary meetings.
- Issue Resolution: Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of issues raised by operators on the line (such as safety concerns and breakdowns) and confirm they have the necessary resources to perform their tasks effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with maintenance teams (including daily and weekly maintenance plans and preventative maintenance tasks) and other local support functions (Quality, CTAG, Engineering, Supply Chain, ME) as well as Nestle support (TCU, PTC) to continuously enhance performance.
- Benchmarking Best Practices: Compare and benchmark best practices and standards with other Nestle factories.
- Ownership of Documentation: Manage Manufacturing Instructions and other production documents relevant to the area.
- Trial Support/Leadership: Support and lead trials conducted on the production line.
Competencies
- Coaching and Training: Provide effective coaching and training on standards across shifts, maintaining a presence on the production floor for over 70% of the time.
- Collaboration for Competency Development: Support supervisors and collaborate with the training department to address gaps in employee competencies.
Additional Responsibilities
- Communication with Production Manager: Maintain open communication with the Production Manager regarding essential items such as nonconformities, production issues, and planning schedules.
- Backup for Production Manager: Serve as a backup for the Production Manager as needed.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.Candidates with 5+ years of manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven track record of establishing strong working relationships with personnel and collaborating effectively with functional resources.
- Previous experience in an aseptic manufacturing environment a plus.
- Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot through root cause problem-solving.
- Experience with SAP-AMM and SAP systems.
- Knowledge of IP (Intellectual Property) practices.
