Job Summary |
Auburn University is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Manager of Audio-Visual Technology Services within the Office of Information Technology. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the planning implementation and support of advanced audio-visual systems and services that enhance the universities learning environments and communication infrastructure. |
Essential Functions |
Operations Oversight: Lead, mentor, and manage employees, including project designers, technicians, and support staff. Provide functional oversight and personnel management of the Campus AV Systems (
CAVS) group. Supervise staff, manage performance, and foster professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities. Coordinate AV project design, installation, and ongoing support to ensure high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement. Oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of large-scale A/V projects, upgrades, and renovations across the university.
Systems Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical designs that meet instructional and operational requirements. Evaluate emerging technologies and make informed adoption decisions. Ensure compliance with university policies, industry standards, and applicable codes.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and maintain policies, procedures, methods, and tools in alignment with Auburn University and
OIT standards. Maintain documentation of systems, workflows, project plans, and operational procedures.
Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a university-wide strategy for classroom technology, digital signage, and cable TV. Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior leadership, including input on project management and budget planning.
Systems Management: Lead the planning, technical design, implementation, system administration, and maintenance of complex AV systems, including classroom technology, digital signage, and cable television. Ensure all AV projects meet client expectations for functionality, budget, and schedule. Manage AV infrastructure leveraging platforms such as
AMX, Extron,
SVSI, and Biamp.
Services Support: Provide oversight for end-user support through consultation, problem resolution, training, and documentation. Ensure service support and incident responses are handled efficiently and effectively. Oversee endpoint support, including troubleshooting and maintaining AV hardware and software at the user level, to ensure seamless operation across classrooms, meeting spaces, and digital signage environments. |

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Experience: minimum of 5 years in a specific IT specialty, with demonstrated experience and project and operations management, team leadership, and AV systems.
