What's involved in this role:

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities and supporting maintenance functions. This position provides administrative assistance to improve the overall effectiveness of maintenance activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use CMMS software to schedule operations and maintenance work activities in a manner that ensures project resources are efficiently allocated to support applicable phases of operations.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling and organizing the efficient operation and performance of work assignments.
  • Develop operations and maintenance work packages and instructions to support work activities, including pre-planning, material staging requisitioning/expediting, labor estimating, and all other field support as required.
  • Monitor assignments to ensure they are within the agreed scope, schedule and budget, and that the work is being performed within outlined policies and expectations.
  • Review engineering plans and product specifications to determine raw material requirements and support operation schedules.
  • Work with Purchasing to obtain and schedule materials based upon production forecasts.
  • Work with Plant Engineering and related design areas to develop tools and instructions that maximize facility and equipment performance.
  • Anticipate and eliminates potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and materials, and equipment access.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with the production team, maintenance team, Production Supervisors, and local contractors.
  • Research and acquire mobile equipment as needed.
  • Maintain equipment file lists.
  • Manage the project management and work order system.
  • Provide assistance to the engineering department and the Maintenance Manager as needed.

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

What You Need to Join Our Team:

  • Hight School Diploma
  • 2-3 years in the maintenance field
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Organised, team oriented and self driven.
