NURSE PRACTITIONER

Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center seeks a suitably qualified Nurse Practitioner to join our medical staff. Under the supervision of a Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner provides direct care to patients under the direction of the patient's attending Psychiatrist. The NP provides care specific to the age population served. These activities are limited to those in compliance with the State of Illinois and facility policies and procedures.

Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center, located in Springfield, Illinois, is dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Under the direction of attending physician/psychiatrist, NP will assess the health and/or mental health status of individuals and families by obtaining health, psychiatric and medical histories, diagnosing health and development problems, admitting patients for inpatient and partial hospitalization level of care.
• Prescribes medications as necessary.
• Participates in the on-call rotation.
• Completes and dictates evaluations.
• Orders medical follow-up care as necessary.
• Completes and dictates all necessary discharge forms including discharge summary.
• Provides daily care for patients according to the relevant policies and procedures of Lincoln Prairie.

Education
Graduate of an approved School of Nurse Practitioner.
Licensure
Current and unrestricted license as an NP in the State of Illinois.
Credentials
Current CPR
