Position: Senior Firmware Engineer

Job Location: 16535 Via Esprillo 1, San Diego, CA 92127

Duties: Design and develop firmware for advanced image sensor technology. Verify firmware via unit testing and system level testing. Implement specifications received from digital and analog engineers. Develop and maintain internal tools used by firmware team. Write design documents for firmware subsystems. Perform feasibility studies for future technologies. Review code written by peers. Debug firmware on board using logic analyzer and debugger. Contribute to overall system design discussions. Debug digital simulations by reviewing firmware logs and waveforms. Report status in project meetings. Telecommuting / work from home is permitted.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Skills required: Must have experience with: C Programming; Basic Python Programming; Basic Bash/Shell scripting; embedded systems; Firmware design verification and automated testing; software unit testing; bare-metal firmware development; ARM architectures; SPI and I2C protocols; state machine development; firmware algorithm implementation; Interrupt Service Routine (ISR) and system event handling; working with evaluation and development boards; Git version control; software tracing & debugging using GDB or similar tools; oscilloscope and digital multimeter. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or experience with the required skills.

The base pay range for this position is $126,880to $134,675.The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for a bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave after three months of employment, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave after six months of employment.
