The Venice Family Clinic provides primary medical and mental health care to the communities of Los Angeles County. Within the clinic is a robust Behavioral Health program that houses social workers, domestic violence specialists, substance use staff, and case management. This Pediatric Mental Health Therapist will be a therapist for a comprehensive early childhood program.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing clinical interventions using home-based infant mental health treatment with prenatal parents and postpartum infant-caregiver dyads to support healthy attachment and development.
  • Crisis intervention and collaboration with case management and medical providers.
  • Performing behavioral health interventions and ensure touches throughout our pre/postnatal program.
  • Working closely with the Infant Mental Health Case Manager to provide comprehensive and collaborative care with outside agencies to support families' SDOH needs.

Please note, only 1 position will be filled; either ref #25600 (MSW or LCSW) or #25601 (AMFT or LMFT).

BEH HEALTH PSYCHTRC PROFL 2 HX (AMFT) Salary Range: $31.03 - $65.90 Hourly

BEH HEALTH PSYCHTRC PROFL 3 HX (LMFT) Salary Range: $34.24 - $74.19 Hourly

Qualifications

Mental Health Therapist Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or Clinical/Counseling Psychology from an accredited school.
  • CA State licensure to practice as a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), or license eligible (AMFT) and working towards accruing hours towards licensure.
  • Excellent communication skills and bilingual in both Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated work experience in providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy for underserved populations.
  • Demonstrated work experience with adults, young families, pregnant women, teens, and patients experiencing homelessness.
  • Skill at developing treatment and case management plans.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and ability to collaborate with medical staff, students, patients, agencies, and volunteers.
  • Working knowledge of community mental health and social service resources, and California child abuse reporting laws.
  • Training in early childhood development and knowledge of substance use disorders.
  • Skill at assessing biopsychosocial needs of high-risk population, and ability to de-escalate patients who become agitated or volatile.

Preferred: Ability to precept, supervise, and evaluate MFT interns.
