Advantest America, Inc. (AAI), is looking for a Global Field Service Director to lead Pre-Sales and R&D functions worldwide. This individual will manage the worldwide Pre-Sales and R&D teams in Field Service Organization, having technical and country-specific leads/managers reporting into him/her. The individual will also work closely with our worldwide Sales, service sales, marketing, and other customer-facing teams to develop, promote, implement and support our products/solutions to upstream and downstream customers, create and grow revenue stream for the company while managing and controlling costs to sustain a profitable business model. This individual must serve as an ambassador for internal and external customers. Advantest is a fast paced, dynamic, international environment so this individual must have worldwide exposure, global view, be able to handle rapidly changing work environments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Lead worldwide teams of Pre-Sales and R&D engineers. * Partner with the internal Engineering & Field Service teams and customers to discover, relate, advocate and support our products and services to customers and OSATs. * Maintain our competitive edge by differentiating our service with added value, creating value propositions and helping customers achieve target ROI. * Work with worldwide sales, business development, and Field Service teams to discover the needs of customers and OSATs, identify the highest value reliability and cost improvement opportunities, map out the value chain (from concept to cash). * Conduct feasibility/serviceability studies for new product/solution designs. * Direct R&D teams through phase analysis, develop/execute project schedule to ensure on-time delivery, validate and perfect our products/solutions and roll out to customers. * Team up with worldwide Field Service teams to deploy our solutions to customers and OSATs, ensure that customer expectations and our commitments are met or exceeded in terms of stability and performance. * Provide ongoing support/upgrade services for deployed products/solutions to achieve complete customer satisfaction. * Improve team skills and diversify our products and services to expand our Total Available Market (TAM). * Enable new customers, get repeat business, and enlarge our install base. * Seek opportunities to improve the functionality, reliability and serviceability of existing products/solutions. * Coordinate the resolution of technical issues and field implementation of product solutions. * Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors in the development of design solutions or parts and components supplied by subcontractors. * Manage the budget, costs and 3rd parties. * Support the development of field application manuals, training manuals/course content and special training requirements for products and services. * Regulatory compliance to assure the teams are operating in compliance to all Advantest processes and procedures. * Domestic and International business travel is a requirement of this position - up to 40% travel to overseas locations and customers is anticipated. * All other duties as required.
