What this job involves:
This role is essential to our mission critical and data center operations, requiring participation in and support of all critical engineering and environmental functions. You will be responsible for maintaining 24/7 operational integrity, providing emergency response support, ensuring environmental compliance, and delivering general engineering support for office building environments. As a Mission Critical Engineer, you will play a vital role in JLL's ability to deliver uninterrupted service excellence to our clients through your strong background in mission critical environments and equipment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Execute preventative maintenance programs across critical and non-critical systems including water treatment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment

  • Monitor and manage mission critical equipment including UPS systems, static switches, PDUs, and generators

  • Document and maintain comprehensive records of all preventative maintenance activities and system performances

  • Develop and implement Method of Procedure (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents

  • Complete daily inspection rounds, document readings, and respond to emergency situations as part of the 24/7 operational support team

  • Participate in training programs and guide both new and current team members in advancing their technical skills and site knowledge

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of mission critical environments and equipment operations

  • Thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and fire life safety systems

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and one-line drawings

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to pass stringent background checks

  • Experience with on-call and after-hours support functions

  • Proficiency in utilizing PC software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical background and experience

  • Experience with writing and reviewing MOPs and SOPs

  • Knowledge of engineering specifications development for third-party vendors

  • Experience maintaining training programs for critical sites teams

  • Familiarity with critical sites sparing programs

  • Experience with data center operations

  • Background in construction practices and equipment installations
